It is so valuable to stop and listen to whatever your body is trying to tell you

My interest in Shiatsu started after experiencing anxiety and panic attacks while I was studying philosophy. It was clear to me that I needed some deeper understanding of my body’s signals. By regularly receiving shiatsu for a full year as a client, it gave me valuable insight into both how profound and how soft shiatsu can be at the same time. It brought understanding to my body's innate intelligence on a deeper level, and it gave me insight in how valuable it is to stop and listen to whatever your body is trying to tell you.

To be able to witness without concluding is a very valuable lesson in maintaining health. Shiatsu is a great tool in doing so, by following the knowledge of certain styles of treatment and Chinese traditional medicine. Namikoshi shiatsu is quite thorough and “straight to the point”, literally. By working in rhythm, repetition and according to a certain structure, the body is invited in to parasympathetic state. Here the body can rest and digest whatever it needs to, both mentally and physically. The Zen-style of shiatsu follows the meridians and more abstract, expressive energies of the body. Both styles have great tools in how to invite the body into homeostatic balance.

I am continually developing myself as a practitioner in both styles. I started my practice in 2021 and have also incorporated Thai stretching techniques and fascial therapies into my sessions.

All of this I bring to the Shiatsu mat, where happily I welcome you!
