Rozerin Kelekvan

Yoga Teacher

Guided by breath, we build strength and endurance and find ease and grace during practice.

My yoga journey started in 2019 when I chose to research the benefits of yoga for an educational project. I found myself releasing all of my thoughts and becoming more present. That's when I fell in love with the practice, to the point of wanting to share all the things yoga has taught me —and is teaching me—with others.

In 2022, I was certified as a teacher in beautiful Costa Rica, which was an eye-opening experience. Yoga is a vibrant philosophy and lifestyle practice. Unfortunately, a lot of this has been lost in most Western classes, and nowadays, yoga is portrayed as mainly a physical practice with a short meditation here and there. In my classes, I like to bring a little bit of the background back into your yoga practice while guiding you on your journey and honouring where you are.

Most of my own practice is Vinyasa yoga, which involves moving with breath (also described as flowing). At first, I was very drawn to pushing myself and finding new limits. I remember thinking that to be able to do as many advanced poses as possible was to be a good yogi. Over time, I realised that chasing an advanced practice did not help me become a better person; it's about what I learned along the way - compassion, patience, acceptance, embracing vulnerability and the unknown. In addition, music plays a massive part in my practice. I feel like water when I move with melodies; without them, it is simply not the same for me. Next to Vinyasa, I also practice Yin, Hatha, and some power yoga. By connecting my mind, body, and soul, I try to find stillness and return to myself in this busy world. Yoga reminds me to be grateful and teaches me to accept myself as I am, as well as to be unafraid of vulnerability and to stand in my truth.

To align with Solar's healing spirit, I will be teaching Hatha yoga. This gentle but energetic practice focuses on channelling and harmonising the body's forces. No matter where you are in your practice, all levels are welcome!
